You seem nice so ill ask you.. How do you do the galaxy nails?! I've wanted to try them so bad for a while but I have no clue how! Do you think you could make a tutorial or something? That would be amazing!!!! :)
There’s tons and tons of tutorials for galaxy nails out there, so I don’t think I’m gonna make one because they’re pretty redundant at this point. However, I will talk you through how I did these most recent ones!
First off, the key to galaxy nails is to use a makeup sponge and a very light hand. I started with a plain creme black base, and then sponged a really dark teal creme (Essie Overboard) over about two thirds of the nail in random locations. The next color I used was white, and to make sure it was really light and not too overpowering, I got some polish on the sponge, and then dabbed it on a piece of paper enough times that barely any was left on. Did the white in random bits on the nails, then followed up super lightly with yellow, peach, and aqua creme polishes concentrated mostly where the white is.
After doing all these parts, it’s really important to just check out how your nails look and to see where there’s a good balance of light and dark, where it gets to be too much and where you need more color. On the nails where you have too much color/galaxy, just go in sponging alternately with the dark colors you used until you get a shape/contrast that you like.
The step that makes these really look like galaxies is adding the stars. I like to concentrate mine in the lightest portions of my nebulae, but all of that is up to you. Some people like to add glitter, I think I prefer mine without, but that’s just me. A lot of this is up to personal preference. If you need any more help with galaxies, I’d say to check out this tutorial because it’s awesome and the daily nail is awesome too.
I really hope all of this was helpful! And that you see this haha
Hey I just wanted to know where you get your nail art supplies?
Like my brushes? The ones I use most I got off of Amazon. They are part of the MASH Nail Art brush kit, with something like 15 brushes in it for 10 dollars. Amazing deal for surprisingly really nice quality brushes. As for like rhinestones and studs and glitter and all that, most of it is either from bornprettystore.com or ebay.
Hi! I was just wondering what product you use to remove nail polish from your nails and brushes. Do you know a more efficient method other than just nail polish remover and a cotton ball? And in a post a while ago I saw you say you used pure acetone to clean your brushes, but I'm a bit concerned about using it because it's pretty powerful. I love your nail art by the way!
For removing from my nails, I use Zoya Remove Plus, which is a little expensive but SOOOO worth it. I get it in the huge 32oz bottles now and I can’t use anything else because it’s just so wonderful. Removes polishes just as well as pure acetone, but isn’t nearly as drying. Also doesn’t smell completely awful.
For cleaning my brushes I do use straight up acetone because that’s what gets them cleanest. I have a video on how I clean those if you wanna check it out! It’s definitely powerful, but I haven’t had too many problems with it, honestly, and your brushes are gonna get a lot of wear and tear regardless of what you use, so I don’t think it’s too big of a problem. Thanks!
It is true I cried reading the blog of my tenth grade best friend and her story about the horse and how it calmed her down but I remembered her spraying pieces of a board game across the floor because she hadn’t won and I couldn’t say why the picture of her in rain boots and a frumpy skirt made me miss her and why a letter written to her future self would elicit such emotion that I felt acid and
It is true the last time we spoke she was behind a cash register and both our lips were pursed and she folded and refolded the same jeans at least five times before placing them with utmost care but I remember her smile hadn’t changed and she still pushed her tongue against the backs of her teeth so that pink peeked through the gaps and
It is true I remembered the time she tried on my bra because she said it belonged to a doll and she laughed and I laughed too but I didn’t and maybe what she wrote about Scorpios dealing with pain has something to do with it because I wasn’t born in November but really I’m just trying to remember what there is to miss.
This is only a note to say how sorry I am you died. I hadn’t met you but I knew your face. It was on the television all week and when I came home for the weekend to relax with my parents, yours had been looking for six days already.
On Sunday, while I was sleeping late, you were reunited. They found you cold, whelmed in a pile of leaves in the park where your car had been deserted since Monday.
My mother watched your mother choking on the morning news and she choked with your mother and pulled my body inside of her own and I had not met you but you should know how sorry I am to hear you died.
hey what are you studying? and where did you learned how to paint
i’m a creative writing major (actually english major with a concentration in creative writing, but that’s close enough). i was thinking about posting some of the poems i’ve been writing this semester actually… first time i’ve ever been proud of my poems haha.
as for the painting, i’m all self taught. i’ve taken drawing classes at school, but never any painting. everything i’ve learned has either been from watching tutorials or from trial and error. mostly trial and error. i have done a lot of terrible manicures before i started making beautiful ones! just keep at it and don’t get too discouraged.
What nail tumblogs would you recommend (other than your own) for people to follow? Can you include some newer/ lesser known ones too? Thanks!!
I’m always afraid to answer this question because I know I will forget plenty of AWESOME blogs out there, so if you have a nail art blog, comment on this post for people to check it out. (But don’t send me a message about it because I won’t promote you like that. Just here. Just now.)
picmonkey.com. i just took several photos with my phone, stuck them on my computer, and then made a collage of them and stuck on some watermarks. it was surprisingly easy seeing as i’m dumb when it comes to these things haha.
