Anonymous asked: So I've been wanting to try gel + nail designs recently... Are you just doing gel nails to get a base color and doing nail art on top without a gel top coat? That way you can exchange out nail art, but not have to take off the gel all the time? Also, have you tried doing the gel top coat on top of nail art? Thanks!
So far I’ve just done the gel polish completely, and then put nail art on top of it so I can change designs easily without changing the base color. I haven’t yet tried putting the nail art underneath the gel top coat because I’m not too keen on being stuck with the same nail art for so long. I’m trying to get my mom to be a guinea pig for doing it that way, but she likes to get to change her designs around now too. I’ve clearly spoiled her…
Jane is anti valentines and I can dig it because her color combos are top notch
Nicole is the cutest human being and chooses the cutest nail designs what the heck man
I’m stinkin obsessed with this color combo I can’t deal with it
Valentines nail party today! Tracey got these pretty red plaid babies for the holiday
These are my favorite valentines day nails I’ve done this year! Also they’re the only ones I’ve done so far, but this mani is gonna be hard to beat, let’s be honest.
daydreamthoughts asked: I have formed a girl crush on you. You are beautiful and inspiring!
oh my god my first girl crush confession i’m gonna cry this is a MOMENTOUS OCCASION
Here’s the first nail art over the gel polish! This is inspired by @blognailedit ‘s excellent tutorial, and when I say inspired I mean I read the tutorial like 2 weeks ago and did it from memory today with different colors. I wish I’d chosen something with a little more contrast from the base, but I’ll live!
Yes, I know, I should stop doing such wild manicures! Sorry! But I finally got the stuff to do gel manicures at home, and here’s the first one I’ve done on myself. I plan on seeing how many different manicures I can get out of this for however long it lasts, so expect a lot of sheer pink bases in the next 2 weeks. This is OPI passion!
the next big 3d nail art trend- whipped cream. You heard it here first!
Anonymous asked: What's the sheer nude you use? I feel like you've mentioned it before and said that it was discontinued so if so do you know of a noteworthy dupe?
The one I’ve been using lately is Nailtini Frappe, which I got in an ipsy bag a few months ago so I have no idea where to actually purchase that brand. My absolute favorite is OPI Passion, and the only reason I haven’t been using it is that my bottle is pretty much all used up and I have yet to replace it. I’m almost certain it’s not discontinued, though, so that’s a good thing!
So what, maybe sometimes I want my nails to look like they belong to a grandma. What’s it to you?
