Tutorial for this design incoming! Just filmed it, plus a cameo from my new little kitty. Am I queen of florals using bottle brushes yet?

I’m home for spring break and I’d like to make a tutorial or two this week! What do you want to learn how to do?

Anonymous asked: Are you on twitter?

I am not! I have had bad experiences with twitter in the past and just have never really thought about using it for my nail stuff. Is this something that’s worthwhile do you guys think? Do you follow the twitters of other nail art bloggers?

charlieboy24 asked: A random fun question: Do you ever get recognized at school or just around town because of your nail blog?

I never have randomly, though sometimes my close friends will introduce me to new people and they will act all excited because they read my blog through that friend and I think it’s really funny. That has actually happened a lot… Okay I don’t know if this answer even makes sense but I can’t think of a better way to word it haha.

I think I would freak out and my head would explode via ego if a random stranger on the street recognized me so let’s hope that doesn’t happen haha…

kittywampuss asked: For complicated (and really clean) designs like that sweet lime/blue/purple one you just posted, what do you put on your dominant hand so that it's pretty too? (Sorry if this is an FAQ but I can't find them on my phone!) Thanks!

For that design, I actually liked it so much that I did it on my right hand too! It was not nearly as clean, and I wish I had taken a picture of it, but with designs I love and know I will wear for a few days I try to replicate with my dumb hand. Otherwise I probably would have done like a skittle with the colors I used or gradients or simple stripes just to mimic the feel of the other mani without the difficulty. Sometimes it’s fun to challenge your non dominant hand, and other times it’s just annoying so a lot of it depends on my mood to be honest.

Here’s Brighton over a bunch of different colors. I can’t pick my favorite, but it’s between the 2 dark colors and the bright orange. I love how different the glitter looks just with a different base underneath.

fashionwildx asked: Just wondering... Do you make up the deigns or do you get them from somewhere? They are so good!

I think I would classify most of my designs as original but with inspiration drawn from other things, I suppose. Very rarely do I paint my nails with a design exactly the same as another person’s nails, though I pull lots of inspiration from clothing and phone cases and art, things like that.

Anonymous asked: Just wondering, is your boyfriend Chinese? Because you said somewhere in a previous post that you were studying Chinese, and that he's moved to China to live. If he is, I think it's awesome that you respect his culture to learn about it. :)

He’s not actually, just kind of generic American white person aka mashup of lots of things. He just randomly took a Chinese class in college and fell in love with the language and the culture, so he’s been wanting to live there for a few years now. I took two Chinese classes mostly because they fulfilled one of my general graduation requirements but also because it was cool to learn about something he was so passionate about.

Unfortunately we are no longer dating because he plans on living in China for a few years and that much distance is just so hard on a relationship but we’re still really good friends and talk often. Sigh…

I picked up Nails Inc feathers in Brighton from sephora today! I haven’t seen much about these polishes online besides a few swatches, and I kinda just got it on a whim… I’m pretty into it though! The gradient looks cool, right?

stillbreathing101 asked: How long does a normal manicure take you from start to finish? I have such a hard time with patience and waiting till the next step etc. Seems like my nails always take a good 2 hours at least.

It depends mostly on how inspired I am. For an average mani where I’m not sitting around thinking about ideas for a really long time I probably take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. It’s hard for me to say, really, because I often paint my nails while watching tv or movies and so I get really distracted all the time haha.

For my more intricate and detailed manis, I’ve probably worked on them for upwards of a few hours, though that’s only when I get really into something and don’t even notice the time passing.

I’m fairly quick once it actually gets to painting, though, it’s just the planning/choosing stage that normally takes the most time for me.

neon-valley-street asked: what colour is the light turquoise in your latest manicure? (the stripes on your thumb etc?)

It is Sephora by OPI Cartwheels on the Catwalk. I am 98% sure. Not positive if they still have the polish in stock, but if they do you should probably get it. Just sayin. PS prismo avatar = awesome.

Anonymous asked: what butter london polishes did you pick? :D I caved and ordered and was immediately filled with a mix of uncontrollable jittery excitement and disgust at my CAVING, because how many polishes does a woman (person) NEED? I went with big smoke, jack the lad, and two fingered salute. LOVE your most recent nails. looove

I went with two finger salute too! I really wanted kerfuffle as well because about 2/3 of my clothing is that color and I love it but it was sold out : ( so i got sprog and shandy as my other two- a nude and a pale periwinkle. i’m so excited for them to get here!
