So I tried out that watercolor technique finally, and I’m actually pretty happy with how it came out. You all know I love this color combination, and abstract florals, so this one really had no chance but being a hit with me. Yay!
Check out these silly little things! I was just kinda messing around last night when I came up with this mani, but I like it a lot more than I thought I would. I like that the letters are so big they look almost like abstract nail framing, or something like that. Great publicity too, OHOHO!
Because I know you guys like seeing what my right hand looks like, here it is in relation to this manicure. It’s nearly the same design, just some of the lines are thicker, and then clearly I just did one big star as opposed to all the little ones on my left hand. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, and I think seeing as it’s summer and I have more free time to practice doing nail art with my left hand that I’ll do posts like this more often (if for no other reason then to show off my lack of ambidextrosity. it’s a word a swear).
I have very little to say about this. I wanted to do an ikat (mostly because I had no idea of what else to do) but I wanted to add a little more texture to it than there usually is. I used that new saran wrap technique on the base color, so it looks all cool and crinkly and stuff, aaaand yeah. boom. nails.
This week has been poor in the way of nail art, in that the only thing I’ve had on my nails all week was that gradient tutorial, and I took it off right after I took photos, and then they’ve been naked for awhile and just mannnn. I did get a supah cute new scarf from Target the other day though and that’s where this print comes from. It’s equally adorable in real life, but MAN I couldn’t get it to photograph right. I’m still having issues when it comes to finding a place with good lighting at home. It’s perfectly okay though, because home still means mom’s cooking and cats, and all of those things are okay with me.
How cool are these waves? I did them using a kind of modified needle dragging technique where I drag with a super skinny striper brush instead of a needle at all. I really like the results, and I think they’re super perfect for summer! Let me know if you’d want to see a tutorial for this! They’re deceptively easy to do, and I’m not (I don’t think) saying that just because I do my nails almost daily. They really are super simple.
Check it out, a little bit of watermarbling that I didn’t want to take off immediately. When I finished these two fingers, I was planning on marbling the other ones but in some contrasting colors. I tried a different combination on each finger, and took them all off. And that’s pretty much how watermarbling goes for me.
Also, please don’t ask me to make a tutorial for watermarbling. I’m not going to A because I’m not very good at it and B because there are SO MANY good tutorials for it out there. If you need to know how, go search for it on youtube! You’ll find a million and a half tutorials out there. So don’t ask. Yeah. It’s not happening.

I made a tutorial on my cat nails! Featuring my CAT. I am now covered in fur, but totally worth it. Also, can you tell I ran out of my ADHD meds two weeks ago? I’m going insane. Also I was gonna post a photo of these nails, but I messed them up 4.3 seconds after filming this video, so I’ll do something else tonight most likely. Meow.
Here’s a photo of the nails I just made a tutorial for. They’re nearly identical to the mani I posted a week ago, just these have a more opaque base, in the color I have been looking for FOR MONTHS. HEY EVERYBODY, GO OUT TO URBAN OUTFITTERS AND BUY A BOTTLE OF VIRGIN. THAT SOUNDS SO WEIRD. CAPSLOCK. AHH.
But yeah, it’s the perfect off-white that I haven’t found anywhere (at least not in a creme, they’re all either sheer or shimmery) and I’m PUMPED. BOOM.
